Katakai Cotton Skirt Royal Blue, Made-to-Order From Ojiya, Japan
The Story
The Kokoro Odoru Skirt (こころ躍るスカート) was created with a simple wish: to share the wonderful comfort of Katsukai cotton with more people. By working with the narrow width of traditional kimono fabric—approximately 39cm (15.4")—we've crafted a skirt that celebrates both the vertical and horizontal grain of the cloth, creating a garment with visual character and texture at every seam.
Features
- Material: Katsukai cotton from Ojiya, Japan—renowned for its soft, pleasant touch against the skin
- Fabric Construction: Textile woven to be used both vertically and horizontally, creating varied visual expression across the skirt
- Waistband: Wide elastic (approximately 6cm (2.4") gather depth) allows you to wear the skirt with your favorite pattern placement facing forward—rotate it 360° to change the look
- Pocket: One generous-sized pocket that can be positioned anywhere around the waist, front or back, depending on how you wear it
- Design Detail: The vertical and horizontal grain usage means the skirt's appearance shifts subtly with each wearing position
- Made-to-Order Craftsmanship: Each skirt is individually constructed after ordering
